Partners

Collaboration is a key operating principle. We are committed to developing and strengthening partnerships with youth, community members, the City of Richmond, and County of Contra Costa, the West Contra Costa Unified School District, neighboring cities, and youth health, advocacy and social service agencies that contribute towards an increase in youth development, leadership, advocacy and services across West Contra Costa County.  We are committed to developing on-going partnerships in the public and private sectors, foundations, and donors.  We are here to learn from each other by allowing healthy struggle among ourselves, by challenging each other, but not disrespecting one another’s opinions or comments.    We value, acknowledge, and celebrate what each of us have to bring to our partnerships and collaborations.

Arts Change

The mission of ArtsChange is to promote imagination, health and wellbeing in stressed East Bay neighborhoods, by engaging artists and communities in the creation of socially conscious art designed for accessible public settings.


Bay Area Community Resources - DROC

Bay Area Community Resources (BACR) promotes the healthy development of individuals, families and communities.


BEATZ DJing

Founded in 2006, BEATZ consists of professionals and musical artists who provide development and leadership activities to underprivileged, at-risk urban youth through music technology. With the combined experience of eight years of teaching in the classroom and throughout the community, the staff of BEATZ works to build respect for cultural diversity through music, provide a positive atmosphere for youth development, and promotes leadership through activities that involve contemporary urban electronic musical endeavors. Using turntables, samplers, and computer-based music production software, BEATZ program and curricula are designed by individuals with years of educational and electronic music and DJ teaching experience. Additionally, the dedicated staff serves to assist youth by enhancing their abilities to express themselves creatively through music. As a result of our program, BEATZ hopes to introduce young adults to a p ositive, creative outlet that will lead to positive and creative older adults.


Center for Human Development - Friday Night Live

The Center for Human Development is a community-based organization that offers a spectrum of services for youth, individuals, families, and communities. We deliver programs and services addressing wellness, youth leadership, conflict resolution, parenting skills, and other challenges facing the community. An umbrella agency for ten programs, CHD is headquartered in Pleasant Hill and has satellite offices in Antioch, North Richmond, and San Francisco.  CHD is the coordinator of the Contra Costa Friday Night Live Partnership.  Friday Night Live builds partnerships for positive and healthy youth development, which engage youth as active leaders in their schools and communities.


Community Clinic Consortium

Community Clinic Consortium is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization dedicated to eliminating health disparities in underserved, low-income, and marginalized communities throughout Contra Costa and Solano Counties.  We accomplish our mission by effectuating changes in local, state, and federal health policies, as well as spearheading health and funding advocacy issues within the counties we serve.  The Consortium represents four non-profit community health center organizations that include La Clinica de La Raza, Brookside Community Health Center, Planned Parenthood: Shasta-Diablo, and Community Medical Centers.


Community Health for Asian Americans

Community Health for Asian Americans (CHAA, formerly Asian Pacific Psychological Services) provides health and wellness programming for children, youth and families living in the East Bay Area. Services in WCCC include: adult mental health and alcohol/drug prevention and treatment; domestic violence intervention and prevention; children’s mental health and AOD treatment and prevention; Co-Occurring mental health and AOD treatment for court referred and other youth; wraparound services for children, youth and families; services for adult clients who are homeless or at-risk with serious mental health issues; community mobilizing ATOD prevention program; community organizing; and youth development (Southeast Asian Young Leaders and BEATZ).


Contra Costa College

Contra Costa College is a two-year, urban community college supported by the taxpayers of California and many generous donors. We offer Associate degrees and certificates that lead to baccalaureate degrees from four-year institutions and to careers in today’s hottest job markets.


EarthTeam

The Green Screen TV is a monthly environmental program with a cast and crew of 20 East Bay teens. Filmed at KCRT in Richmond and Berkeley Community Media in Berkeley, the show currently airs on 11 Bay Area TV stations. The Green Screen crew creates 30-minute episodes each month, featuring teen environmental activities throughout the Bay Area.


Family Institutes of Pinole and Richmond

Not-for-profit, outpatient mental health center specializing in child, family, adult and couples therapies. Committed to providing cutting-edge, collaborative and culturally-informed services to underserved communities. Offering in-home family therapy for troubled adolescents; EMDR and other treatments for trauma victims. Services available in Spanish and English to Medi-Cal, Victims of Crime, Healthy Families, and sliding-scale clients. Uninsured individuals can be seen in some cases.  


Further the Work

Consulting organization to nonprofits, philanthropies, and educational institutions that are working for social justice. Services include strategic planning, org development, grantwriting, communications, fundraising, program improvement, and project management. Currently serves as project manager for the Irene S. Scully Family Foundation's Richmond grants, including substantial annual operating grants to Peres School and Verde School.


LifePortal

Consulting organization to nonprofits, government agencies and educational institutions serving 16-25 yr olds to increase access to essential services and enhance connections with target audience through new technology and social media. 


Ma'at Youth Academy

To improve public and environmental health in urban areas by developing and modeling multicultural environmental education, promoting economic opportunities for youth and increasing community involvement in environmental protection.


Niroga Institute

Niroga is a non-profit organization that fosters health and well being through Transformative Life Skills (TLS), a combination of yoga, breathwork, and meditation practices, for at-risk and underserved individuals, families, and communities.  


North Richmond Youth Adult Empowerment Center

The Young Adult Empowerment Center, located at 50 Silver in North Richmond, offers free job and life skills training and support for young adults (16 to 18).  Classes include resume writing, computer skills, and career planning. The center is a collaboration of Supervisor Gioia's office, several county departments including the Redevelopment Agency; the Workforce Development Board, the Housing Authority, Contra Costa County, and several community nonprofits.


Richmond YouthWORKS

To provide Richmond youth with a personalized service system that will focus on addressing the academic, social and economic needs which affect their quality of life, and; provide alternatives that will enable them to become self-sufficient, productive citizens.


Southeast Asian Youth Leaders

SEAYL (South East Asian Young Leaders), a program of Community Health for Asian Americans (CHAA, http://www.chaaweb.org), is a youth-driven group that was formed in the wake of the tragic murder of Chan Boonkeut in October 2003. A group of concerned youth recognized the need to address community violence in West County, particularly the city of Richmond and came together to form the group. Our mission is to foster a friendly and safe evironment in West Contra Costa County to keep youth off the streets, betterment of the Southeast Asian community: developing leadership, academic, and job skills, learning about and sharing Southeast Asian culture, being involved in the community and promoting youth voice.


Stride Center/ReliaTech

The Stride Center is a social venture nonprofit empowering economic self-sufficiency for individuals and communities in the San Francisco Bay Area.  The Stride Center prepares students for professional, well-rounded careers in the information technology field. ReliaTech is the social enterprise of the Stride Center, providing low-cost, high-quality computer repair and service, as well as Gold Star Certified Renewed computers.


WCCUSD Bright Futures After School Programs

WCCUSD Bright Futures After School Programs provide opportunities for students to become respectful, resilient, responsible learners.


West Contra Costa Public Education Fund

The Ed. Fund provides grants to teachers and schools, scholarships to high school seniors going to college, after school programming, arts and music programming, and awards for teaching excellence in West County public schools.


West County First Five Center

The West County First 5 Center offers free classes to children ages 0-5 and parents/caregivers, including teen parent ed classes and parent/child interactive classes.


Youth Enrichment Strategies

YES provides low-cost camp and community programming to youth and families in Richmond and surrounding Contra Costa County. We offer summer camp opportunities for children ages 8 - 16; Family Camps to elementary school students and their families; and PeaceTalk non-defensive communication workshops to various community members with a primary focus on parents and teens.


Youth Movement Records

Youth Movement Records (YMR) is a youth-driven Media Arts organization inspiring under-served urban youth, ages 13-19, to engage in learning, leadership and positive community involvement. YMR involves youth through music, mentoring and entrepreneurship in order to reduce violence, develop skills and create community change.


Youth Together

Grounded in our commitment to unity, peace, and justice, Youth Together addresses the root causes of educational inequalities by developing multiracial youth organizers and engaging school community allies to promote positive school change.
